ENG 231 Masterpieces of World Literature I (3 credits)
This course examines the history and growth of great books and ideas and their relevance to modern times. Students read
literary selections from the ancient world to the 18th century to help them understand the sense and perspectives of major
world writers. Students learn to demonstrate an understanding of both Eastern and Western literary traditions through class
discussions and written assignments.
Prerequisite: ENG 102.
